Free Chronological Bible Reading Plan: 1 Year, 365 Days (KJV)

Reading the Bible in chronological order helps the story make sense. You meet Job in the days of the patriarchs, read the Psalms beside the moments in David’s life that shaped them, hear Isaiah, Hosea, and Jeremiah alongside the kings they spoke to, and read Paul’s letters right where they fit in the book of Acts.

This free printable plan takes you through all 66 books and every one of the 1,189 chapters in 365 days. Each day is sized by word count, so the load stays even, at about 12 minutes a day for most readers. There are no “monster days” followed by tiny ones.

The plan moves through 16 stages: Creation and the Flood, Job and the Patriarchs, Exodus and the Law, the Wilderness and Conquest, Judges, Ruth and Samuel, David’s Rise, King David, Solomon and Wisdom, the Divided Kingdom, the Prophets and Kings, Judah’s Last Kings, the Exile, Return and Rebuilding, the Life of Jesus (the four Gospels loosely harmonized), Acts with Paul’s letters, and the Letters and Revelation.

Start on January 1 or any day of the year. Each monthly page lists the date, the day number, the reading, a checkbox, and a short notes line, and a year-at-a-glance tracker lets you color in each day you finish. Print at 100% / Actual size on regular paper. Missed a day? Just pick up today.

A note on order: scholars debate the dates of some books and psalms, so the chronological placement of several readings is approximate. The goal is to follow the big story, not to settle every date.

Frequently asked questions

What is a chronological Bible reading plan?

A plan that arranges the Bible’s books and chapters in the approximate order the events happened, instead of the order the books appear in your Bible. For example, Job is read with the patriarchs, Psalms are read with David’s life, and the prophets are read with the kings of their day.

How long does it take each day?

Most days take about 12 minutes. Every day is balanced by word count, so the readings stay close to the same length all year.

Does it cover the whole Bible?

Yes. All 66 books and all 1,189 chapters appear exactly once across 365 days.

Is the order exact?
