Easy Bible crossword puzzles for kids
Puzzles 1–3 (Joseph and His Brothers, Daniel in the Lions’ Den, Jesus Feeds Five Thousand) have 10 clues each, a word bank, and the Bible reference after every clue, so children can look up the verse and find the word. The squares are large (about 30–32 pt), which also makes them a good large-print crossword for older eyes.

Medium crosswords: the Lord’s Prayer, Ruth, Esther and Elijah
Puzzles 4–7 have 12–15 clues, no word bank, and a Bible reference after each clue. The Lord’s Prayer puzzle is a fill-in-the-verse crossword (Matthew 6:9–13), a simple way to help a class memorize the prayer.
Hard Bible crosswords for youth and adults
Puzzles 8–10 (Heroes of Faith from Hebrews 11, the Journeys of Paul in Acts, and Wisdom from Proverbs) have 16–17 clues and give no references and no word bank; the references are in the answer key. A few answers keep KJV spellings of names that trip up even regular Bible readers, so the clue says “KJV spelling” whenever it does.

Frequently asked questions
Are these Bible crossword puzzles really free?
Yes. All 19 pages are free to download and print for personal, family, classroom, homeschool and church use. Please share the page link rather than the file, and don’t resell it.
Do the crosswords come with answers?
Yes. Pages 13–17 show every grid filled in, plus a list of each answer with the Bible verse it comes from.
What ages are the puzzles for?
The three easy crosswords (word bank and references) suit ages 6 and up with a little help. The four medium puzzles suit ages 9 and up. The three hard puzzles have no word bank and no references, for teens, youth groups and adults.
Are there easy Bible crossword puzzles for kids?
Yes: Joseph and His Brothers, Daniel in the Lions’ Den, and Jesus Feeds Five Thousand. Each has 10 clues, a word bank, large squares and the Bible reference after every clue.
Which Bible translation are the clues from?
The King James Version. Every clue was checked word for word against the KJV verse it is based on, so a few answers keep KJV spellings of words and names. The start-here page warns about them, and the hard puzzles say “KJV spelling” in the clue.
Is there a Lord’s Prayer crossword?
Yes. Puzzle 4 is a fill-in-the-verse crossword on the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9–13 (KJV): each clue is a line of the prayer with one word missing.
Can I print them in large print?
The easy puzzles already use large squares. For any page, print on tabloid (11 × 17 in) or A3 paper with “Fit to page” to make the grid about 30–40% bigger.
Are these good for a youth group or adult Bible study?
Yes. The hard puzzles on Hebrews 11, Paul’s journeys in Acts and Proverbs give no references, so they work as a group challenge. Hand out the answer key afterwards and read the verses together.
Free for personal, family, classroom and church use. Please share the page link rather than the file, and don’t resell. Scripture from the King James Version (public domain in the US).
